Black Bean Hummus

I really enjoy hummus, but I don’t like to buy it with all of the salt and oils used by those that mass produce it. While many brands are organic, they still use a lot of salt and oil. I just don’t see a need for that.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can black beans, drained & rinsed (I use no salt added)
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 Tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1/4 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp of cumin (or more if you like it zesty!)
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil (optional) I normally omit.
  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation:

In a food processor (I use my Ninja) or blender process all of the ingredients until smooth. If it is too thick, add a little more water. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator in an air-tight container
